GSE: ETI starts the year strong with 29% return in January

Ecobank Transnational Incorporation (ETI) shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) have picked up from where they left off in 2024 with a strong 29% return in the first month of 2025. The shares of the banking conglomerate with a presence all across the continent, returned a whopping 107% in 2024. Shares of ETI have been surging since it listed $400 million in eurobonds on the London Stock Exchange back in November.

After shedding 27% in 2024 and being the worst performing stock on the bourse, CAL Bank started the year with a decent 17% stock price rise. This is an early indication that the bank may be on its way to recovery. Rounding up the top 5 performers in January 2025 is MTN and Access Bank both with a 10% return.
