Fuel prices set to increase for second straight pricing window

Prices of petroleum products at the various pumps are set to see an increase for the second straight pricing window, with petrol and diesel prices inching closer to the GH¢15 mark at the outlets of some Oil Marketing Companies. Fuel prices at the beginning of the month saw two upward reviews within 24 hours after experiencing some stability in the 2nd pricing window of March.

But industry data cited by ceditalk.com indicates consumers of petroluem products will experience another round of increments that will take effect from Tuesday, 16th April, 2024 owing to the cedi’s continual slide against the US Dollar and the rise in price of crude and its products on the international market. Petrol and Diesel per the data are likely to see upwards adjustments of about 8% and 3% respectively. Liquefied Petroluem Gas (LPG), however, is expected to experience about a 15% drop in prices following a significant fall of almost 20% in its price on the international market.

Meanwhile, in line with the 2024 petroluem products pricing guidelines, all OMCs and LPGMCs are expected to notify the NPA of their finalized revised prices of the next window by midday Monday, 15th April.
